Bookbinding Sophomores

Last week, Samantha Perkins and Helen Armstrong combined their courses for the day to introduce the basics of binding and then enjoy a Thanksgiving student potluck. The workshop prepared students for a Typography assignment in which each designed and produced a custom edition of a public domain text downloaded from Project Gutenberg. The assignment explores the future of printed books as precious artifacts rather then mass produced texts.
